2025-01-29 02:19:10 +0000 UTCI was the one that sent this cause I love K-pop but I'm also a huge fan of Korean hip-hop and rap and really wanted to introduce you to some of the Korean rappers outside of K-pop. Yoon Mirae (yoon mee ray) is the wife of Tiger JK and considered the god mother of Korean hip hop. She's half black half Korean. This song really hits me hard and makes me cry because while I'm not half black I am still half Korean and that feeling like you don't belong and aren't enough for your own communities really resonates with me. Plus it definitely gives me more of the R&B/hip-hop vibes from when I was a kid. People actually used to get on her ass about cultural appropriation and shit and I remember how she posted a photo of her as a child where you can see her afro and her natural curly hair to shut up the haters. When she first started performing she was 13 but at the time they had an age restriction so she lied and said she was 19. Because of the fact Korea still has a lot of issues regarding racism and colorism towards people with darker skin complexions she used to wash her face multiple times a day with bleaching soap and wore lighter foundation because she felt like she wasn't beautiful due to the beauty standards of Korea. Here legal name is Natasha Reid and that was in fact her real father (he's not dead from what I know). Her dad was the person to introduce her to hip-hop and helped grow her love of music because outside of being a soldier in the US military he was also a DJ. As for if she still makes music, she hasn't made much in the last few years her last song was in 2022 called LAW and features BIBI and was made for a dance competition called Street Man Fighter. However she was featured on J-Hope's (from BTS) song Neuron in early 2024. She also has a group with Tiger JK called MFBTY. Her and Tiger JK actually performed at Coachella this past year and I am so upset I couldn't be there. Some of my other favorite songs are from her 2018 album Gemini 2 (literally any of them) she also does a lot of K-drama OSTs my favorite being from Descendants Of The Sun called Always which is more of a love ballad.

Tiger JK has worked with Rakim. jhope had a recent collab with Yoon Mirae/Tasha. You all should react to the BTS rap line's individual albums from the start to now.
