Next Big Project!
Added 2016-12-09 18:07:29 +0000 UTCThe next big project we have planned is currently titled 'Overwatch Battle Royale'. The idea isn't specific to Overwatch but we are starting in OW due to it's amazing recording-friendly features.
The main idea is to pitch in-game AI controlled characters against each other to see which is the best. We first tried this in Titanfall 2 since there are 6 different Titans and upon exiting a Titan, it will fight on its own. Unfortunatly it was too difficult to record cleanly, since if you got close to them, they would murder you.
For Overwatch we have setup an entire team of each of the avalible AI characters (11 currently) and the first team to cap a point wins the round. Best of 3 goes through. We haven't finished recording all the rounds but so far, visually, it's amazing. It's not out soon and I have no idea how to edit it but I think people are going to love it.
Below is an early draft of the bracket we are using, making a bracket with 11 people is horribly complicated and leads to some unfairness in the numbers of matchups but the alternative was narrowing it down to 8 which seemed messy and defeated the point of testing which AI is the best.

My friend Andy (who organises sports tournaments) demonstrated in Excel what we would have to do to make a point system that was 100% fair. You can see why we didn't use it.
