First up Jamison is making scripted shorter reviews as these are more suitable to most peoples schedules. We'll still be keeping the long podcast stuff up somewhere, maybe even on the main DTH channel but short reviews will be coming out for all the big releases.
The Mythbuster stuff is getting a revamp, firstly the name 'Mythbusters' is back. It was removed a couple of years ago after a bigger Youtuber said it could lead to potential problems (since it's an owned trademark etc) but we just thought 'well, it's a much better name, is more descriptive of the format we use and we can just deal with any consequences when they arrive' so screw it, the name Mythbusters is back. We're also looking into changing the format from a montage of quick clips to taking deeper dives into specific things. The issue with the old format is it takes a long time to make, isn't good for driving clicks and we're not very thorough with our tests, leading to lots of comments asking us to re-test them in different scenarios. We also often have some myths but not enough for a full episode, leaving us to just do nothing. Taking a deeper dive into more focused ideas allows us to create videos more quickly, cover stuff more deeply and doesn't effect our current style. Some people might see it as milking stuff and to be honest, that is a part of it but the main aim is consistency and flexibility.
We're also brainstorming brand new ideas, most of them being less serious and more silly. Expect some shitposts from DTH this year.
That's where we are at, we'll keep you updated since there are likely many changes to come.
