Cosplay photography: before and after

Did you ever wonder what complicated cosplay pictures look like before editing?

Here I have a great example for you of how my Starfire in space photo was created.

This is what the finished picture looks like. Lots of special effects!

But here is the same photo before any editing.

I was wearing orange makeup for real, and the only big difference would be that I didn’t have green contacts. Plus Sei Photo had to remove some weird looking shadow from my nose and lighten up my face a bit since Starfire is shiny girl. Other touch ups included mostly work with wig (little hair was distracting) and additional light for the wig too. I have LEDs in every hair weft but by the end of the shoot the battery was done and my wig didn’t shine as bright as it could.

And all the rest was about background and effects.

Hope this doesn’t ruin magic for you, cause I honestly feel like in photoshoots like this the main job has to be done with background rather than cosplayer. Thats why I really try to make my characters as real as possible.

Would you like to see more comparisons like that?

Yeah, and I am super exited every single time I can bring my vision to life though some special effects! And actually my photographer was the same person who did all the digital art. And thankfully we have the similar vision with her, this makes work a lot easier And thank you so much for being here with me! I feel like by the end of the year I’ll have to send you a special print or something to thank you for your support and trust in my work ❤️❤️❤️

It really is amazing what they can add and take away these days. I just ordered a print from this set (not this particular pose) off Etsy last week. Comparisons and behind the scenes are always fun and don't doesn't ruin the magic for me. Great job to you, the photographer and the digital artist.
