February content plan + Zola comic update

Should be a quiet month. My partner is off work for a week though so I might disappear for a bit. Also Monster Hunter Wilds.

Planning on about 3 weeks of work again.

Project 1

Development sketches for that Genshin reboot.

This is my list of prerequisites-

- 'Amarela' design sheet

- 'Elyn' design sheet

- Monster design: Mana mutant (Hilichurl equivalent, plus some variants that make them ACTUALLY interesting instead of just lame colour variants.)

- Monster design: Outcast (Bandits and such)

- Monster design: Mana gel (Slimes)

- Monster design: Magivine (a group of sapient plants, Caves of Qud style (Red death dacca if it schlorped you for your mana instead of peeling you like a banana) and varied.)

- Monster design: Mushi (mushrooms.)

Plus some world building, I want to present it as a guidebook.

Be prepared for this to take me 2 to 3 months. You'll all get to see it as it unfolds, but ultimately I do want this to be a really neat little guidebook people can get on kindle or something.

I already have some designs down.

You might also notice that I made these physically with pencils. I expect to be making some more Physical artworks from now on.

Project 2

I have enlisted the help of some friends who aren't direct fans of the Zola comic in private. I'm getting help with proof-reading and critique.

Turns out I've been too hard on myself. I've devised a very dramatic, compelling start to the story in which you can immediately see what the story will be about over the course of about 2 character interactions. Everything was there it just needed some reordering.

The fresh plan is as follows:

- Get the first 13 pages tweaked so that they enhance the escalation of the drama.

- Make sure the sketch is like a scaffold, so I just have to put the pretty drawings in.

- Fill in the rest of the chapter up to roughly 21 pages.

Right now there are 13 beta pages. They need some panels to be more angular and for the speech bubbles to be better organised. There isn't much art-wise besides some sketches hastily dropped into the panels that I will need to frame peroperly within those panels.

The pages span from introducing Zola and Winter to the main story hook. The remaining 8 pages will be Zola deciding her short-term goal.

My plan for Chapter 2 is telling you how crazy Zola's cybernetics are and how they impact her life (making certain things more easy or more difficult).

In Chapter 3 I will introduce Tyara.

I could go on, but seeing 2 chapter summaries ahead feels about right.

Overall, my goal is to introduce you to the worldbuilding and characters I've been building up for the last 2 years. I think the main reason I struggled so hard with this was that I practiced layouts and storytelling using fanart; Using a world that other fans are already familiar with. It's hard to figure out how to familiarise people with no concept of my own ideas, from scratch, with no baseline.

This time I figured it out, things will be relatively low stakes for the first 3-4 chapters, then I'm going to dive into Zola's backstory before putting her on her journey to save Witchport and beyond.

I don't know when those first 21 pages will be posted, but I'm far more comfortable working on it now. I'll start using sketches from the comic as monthly update banners, and write down how much progress I made.

Project 3

Commission slots & Exclusives.

I'll open up the commission list, do as many as I have time for and then close the list. Subscribers all get first dibs getting on the list. I will announce the commissions publicly in a week.

My prices are on the discord but you're looking at about 40GBP($300BRL/$50USD) for something simple and 80-100GBP($600-750BRL/$100-130USD) for something fully rendered. For now I'm still charging in GBP but I will start charging in BRL once I have my bank account set up in Brazil (where I live now).

Ideas on the list will be treated like a sushi conveyor belt, I will make what I feel like making first and the ideas left over when I close the list will need to be resubmitted next time. You can maximise your chances of being selected by providing a clear idea of what you want including sketches, diagrams and reference. Asking me to draw things that cater to my specific kinks and niches is also an effective strategy for getting picked first.

Contact me via Bluesky or Discord, my DMs are open.

Thanks for sticking with me, here's to a productive month.
