Oh, thats a tough one. On the one hand I'm almost always down for sex scenes but on the other hand, since you got us so much nsfw bonus content I dont feel "starved" for it so I wouldnt really mind if there were no sex scenes in the main comic. I get that you think a sex scene wont fit with how vanilla the comic has been up till now. But there was enough blood and violence so I think a sex scene might fit in too? I'm sorry for not giving a real clear answer? These are just my thoughts. ^^"

I don’t think it would be odd to add sex scenes after so long because I don’t think it clashes with the narrative or vibe of the comic at all so either way it’s up to if you want to draw them and include them or not. The comic so far flows where it could go either way so I think if you either want to draw them and include them or not is okay. Hopefully that made sense.

I agree that the sex scenes should probably be patreon only and it would be enough to cut the pages out on the website. Imagination will be enough for the people over there to fill the gaps. Personally, I could totally see the comic skipping after this sketch and then next we see is a happy afterglow face on Jura :) and would fit the feel of the comic just fine. Then patreon get to see the “behind the scenes“ which would also feel right to me ^^ but of course, please decide what feels right to you! <3

Have a sfw version on site and a nsfw version here. Though, by the sounds of it you feel cautious about main comic nsfw things anyway so if you feel like you can't include them then I imagine people will be ok with it. I would be eitherway.

Also idk if this helps but i agree with what’s been said and think a sex scene makes the story have more depth and if you do censored with black bars for free and then uncensored for $1 and up that would be perfect! (Plus it gets money and money is really really great especially for artists lmao)

Listen, an artist is going to do what a artist needs to do. I think you should have sex scenes all over the place. Whether or not it goes on the main site or not is up to you, but I think the series can call for it in certain areas.

I forgot Teahouse existed for a moment. It gave me war flashbacks. Thank you for your thoughts! The thing is, I'm not going to post explicit content on the main site either way, my question was - should friends till death have an explicit sex scene at all? Does it feel right? Starfighter and Teahouse were pure yaoi comics with sex scenes right off the bat. Is it ok for FTD to show a dick after 7 years of celibacy?

Let me summarize, TLDR: keep explicit stuff off of the main comic for free readers and offer it as an extra for post readers to help keep the sfw readers happy and also give more to the pay ones, that's my vote

Also, going back before patreon, Teahouse and starfighter had WHOLE PAGES of extra NSFW content they d didn't put on their sites and that you had to buy the books to obtain. Which I did. I have all of them. Don't shame me. It's both an extra thank you to the readers who can support the comic and it doesn't fully take away from the overall story line. I hope this helps, sorry for the wall of text!!!

I feel, as a reader of comics who censor on the main sites and keep the uncensored on patreon, that's its usually out of respect for their hosting sites content restrictions, so they'll use a black bar or pixelation blur (I prefer the later myself) and state it's to remain in compliance with Tapas/ webtoon / sj content guidelines or whatever, and I completely understand. I've never taken issue to it, and it's not as if the whole story is missing, it's just blocking the explicit bits. Also, there might not be readers who wish to see an explicit sex scene and this gives them a way to view it.
