Dev update #93

My new resolution! I'm trying to keep you guys informed at least 3 times a month on how things are progressing, so here we are!
Good news only today! I managed to complete all static renders ~10 days earlier than I assumed in my perfectly calculated schedule. While this is great news, it only shows I still can't properly calculate deadlines. 10 days is a lot! Luckily, I finished rendering 10 days earlier and not 10 days later. Lucky me indeed! I'll get better at organising my new workflow schedule in time.
So, what now? Time to re-render things! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to defeat my worst enemy, which is myself, and some of the scenes are looking mediocre after giving them a second look. I was so scared of not meeting deadlines I had to push forward regardless of results. And some of the results are... not satisfactory. I would leave those renders as is, but these are the intro scenes. I can't have mediocre looking renders right at the start and risk people abandoning the game before diving deeper into Episode 1.
What does it mean? 10-11 days of re-rendering should be more than enough, I'm sure of it. Don't you worry, this doesn't ruin my schedule - I knew I had to rework some scenes way before this announcement. I think I even mentioned it in the previous dev update? I'm not sure.
The final release of Episode 1 WILL happen this year - nothing's changed. I'm guessing early to middle December.
So... Let's see some numbers:
- Coding - 100%
- Static renders - 95%
- Writing - 95%
- Animations - 0%
- Music - 0%
- SFX (if any, depends on my schedule) - 0%
- Postproduction - 0%
- Reworked static renders 0%(should be 100% by 30th October)
That's it for now!
Take care!

Take your time. Better a good product then one that turns people off. :)
