2020-09-17 06:10:41 +0000 UTCI agree, Blackbeard is just like Luffy, but also the opposite. He laughs all the time and is always confident that everything will work out. But they are exact opposite when it comes to morality and things like that. Which is why i love the bar scene from the previous episodes. Luffy hated the cake, but loved the drink. Blackbeard loved the cake, but hated the drink. Both behaved in the same way, but had opposite taste.

2020-09-16 23:11:17 +0000 UTCI love Blackbeard as an antagonistic force. He's Luffy's foil. Same dreams, same drive and ambitions, but in terms of morality he's diametrically opposed to Luffy. BB's willing to do dirty deeds, even kill a crewmate (which is why Ace is chasing him down). For Blackbeard it's about power. For Luffy it's about freedom. So amusing that Oda made an argument about the taste of a cherry pie a metaphor for their differences.
