The word "arc" describes this chimera ants storyline perfectly. The king at the beginning can thoughtlessly kill and when we fast forward the humans can thoughtlessly create weapons of destruction that kill with no sympathy at all. The contrast and comparison between man and ant, individuality vs. the collective, the pros and cons of each philosophy, are intertwined throughout this arc. Gon became more ant like, Meruem became more human, it's a beautiful thing.

2020-09-23 18:03:38 +0000 UTCI was worried I was too late mentioning the post credit scene after you did that lens video. Super happy you got to see it anyhow. Yeah, it's quite the arc. We got to see our protag turn into a monster, and our monster antagonist turn into a human. Author knows his way around a character arc. EDIT: Oh and yes, that circus music preview at the end is always so jarring. Never fails to annoy.
