I am not sure if you noticed why Hayama won here (aside from the better food) , If you remember Saiba Jouichiro (Souma's dad) mentioned what would make your food to perfection, it's to have that special someone you want to cook the best food for. Hayama has Shiomi, Souma doesn''t have one, while Ryou and Alice's relationship isn't at that level yet.
