Thats because most anime intros are made with the thought in mind that you have already read the manga and know what is gonna happen. That means anime-only viewers can get spoiled on some pretty major events.

I went from a casual OP fan to a die hard fanatic. Personally, I'm glad that you're NOT one of those reactors who skips the openings. I didn't pick up on anything major (because I'm a dunce who just enjoys things and doesn't see the forest for the trees). You get to view things like we did. The biggest hype I'm waiting for is the soundtrack. I'm so happy you guys have gotten this far - it's something I've been waiting for so sit back, relax, and enjoy One Piece

Whoever translated must still be in highschool. Like those VHS fansubs of dragon ball from Anime Labs back in the 90s where they would insert swear words wherever they could.
