Rail guns use giant electromagnets to fire a steel rod at high enough velocities to generate plasma; you can make miniature ones at home that can fire nails. The weapon shown in the movie is a Railway Gun which is basically a train built around a massive artillery platform.

He gives blessings to people soley so they will put tanya in 'dire circumstances'. I dont think being x would let tanya die without tanya worshiping him. Its messed up because millions will die because both tanya and being x are too stubborn to admit they're wrong. Both being x and tanya do good things for people, not to help them or be nice, they do good things for people for personal gain. they are basically the same type of person. both want to be acknowledged and rewarded and worshiped for thier 'good' deeds. oh and so you know. i believe the type 97 jewel that tanyas guys have can go to like 9000 meters or something like that and tanya can go to 18000 meters, but her type 95 computational jewel can only be used by her because its a blessing from being x.

Tanya doesn't want to do nothing, but she wants to be office worker and sit in the back, as she said in the movie she hates war and killing. But at the same time her work mentality is so good that she shuts off all emotions and cold logically make decisions which ironically is very good officer material for war.

2021-01-06 07:01:33 +0000 UTCReally long comment but I wrote this as I was watching the movie and answering some stuff you guys were discussing They said "Railway gun" not "Railgun" which is just a big artillery that moves on rail When the Federation purged their mages it's basically "The Great Purge" that the Soviet Union did in WW2 when they came to power. Basically purging anyone who threatened the Communist Party politically or in any other way. The guy who got thrown out the first time we saw the Commie Party members had dinner with the Imperial ambassador in the Federation. General Rudersdorf who you thought was the one he shared a drink with does not work in the Federation but in the Imperial capital. The creepy commie guy is based on a real communist who served in the Soviet Union who used to take a ride in his limo to pick up young women and take them back to his mansion where he would basically force them to give him consent by saying that if they don't consent he would put their entire families in the Gulags (concentration camps) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavrentiy_Beria And he does want Tanya in a creepy perverted way but he just says it to the others that he just wants them for what they did so they will accept it I personally don't like Mary because she's too emotional and impulsive. She gets away with way too much aswell. She breaks direct orders all the time but nothing happens... She is a great character tho. The author made a character that would be a Main Protagonist in another story to be this storys antagonist which is impressive. I don't like her but she is a well written character. BIggest flex of this movie is singing their own national anthem and planting their own flag in the enemy capital lmao A division is a large military unit or formation, usually consisting of between 10,000 and 25,000 soldiers. And they sent 10+ of them to Tiegenhoff. Approximately 200,000+ soldiers Man that laser beam she uses takes sooooo much magic to do that almost nobody can do it but she can just keep firing them because well... Being X Tanya has in a way also fought based on emotions but towards Being X. She knew this girl is influenced by Being X so she fights like she was fighting Being X Tanya is 12 when this movie takes place and when she entered the army she was 9 Zettour doesn't outrank Rudersdorf. They are the same rank but in different departments so they are basically equals but Tanya is technically a unit under Zettour so Rudersdorf doesn't have much say in where she is to be deployed She doesn't want to sit around doing nothing. She just wants to work in a safe location where she doesn't have to risk her life with every assignment like the Generals who make the plans she carries out. That's the work she wants to do in the army but she keeps being sent out to the front lines lol Mary is defínitely in terms of raw power much stronger than Tanya but Tanya is so much more strategical and experienced so it becomes a pretty even fight. Great reaction. Now I just gotta wait for next Haikyuu and Gate episodes
