You remember that scene in the flashbacks where Luffy is drowning because that bandit threw him in the water and there is a sea monster that is about to eat Luffy and Shanks shows up out of nowhere and basically just looks at the sea monster and it gets all scared and runs away? Yeah, Oda's foreshadowing skills are basically god-tier.
