I believe is never been confirmed that Shanks can see into the future just like Katakuri or perhaps even further. I think that is the reason why Shanks lost his arm in episode 4 or chapter 1 of the manga. Shanks could see different versions of the future where if he didn't lost his arm to rescue Luffy from the seaking it resulted on Luffy being killed on that moment. Also, back in Marineford when Shanks show up and stop Akainu from killing Coby he said that "The courageous moments that you created by risking your life just now have changed... ...the future of the world tremendously - for better or worse." Emphasis on the word the future, Shanks was speaking like a prophet, I would not be surprised if Shanks has future sight and is also the reason why he gave his hat to Luffy.

And I started love it, cause god damn: Pedro fight and sacrifice, Big mom’s crazy past, Jimbei departure from Big mom pirates, Carrot’s sulong form. And Katakuri, I love him sooo much, he’s coolest villain in this arc and cool character

Unless i was confused in the reaction here but I don’t recall that being the case. Yup. Haki was all over Skypiea like that girl who also sensed the people all over the Island aside from Enel.

I'm glad you're thinking about it though one piece theories are always interesting and you guys are closer to catching up so your theories are catching up too. It's good to remember about the foresight because it makes katakuri's dialog so interesting.

2022-02-25 20:15:53 +0000 UTCTo put Jimbei's explanation another way, when a Mink gazes on an unobstructed full moon their wilder nature rises up and grants them additional power in a form that others dubbed Sulong, the Moon Lion (due to how their altered form resembles a pale while lion). While all are capable of achieving the Sulong form only a limited number of Minks are trained enough to control it. Those who are not trained enough will have their rational selves overpowered by their wilder nature and attack anyone they see (much like Chopper in his Monster Point form before the timeskip.) Also those minks who are unable to control their Sulong forms will continue to fight until they completely exhaust their energy and die (again like pre-timeskip Chopper.) Hope that helps.

I know it seems confusing but i'll try my best to explain the difference. Regular observation haki lets you read someone's "intentions" basically like low level mind reading so you know what they're going to do next while future sight lets you actually see a couple seconds into the future. Remember how Enel was reading all of Luffy intentions so Luffy just punched the wall so the hits wen't at Enel randomly with no intent on Luffy's part so Enel couldn't dodge them? This is where future sight is superior cause it doesn't rely on someone's intentions. Katakuri would have seen where Luffy's random punches were going to go regardless and still dodged them cause he can actually see the future and doesn't have to rely on someone's intent. Hope I explained that well.
