You should read some of Oda's SBS'. They are filled with questions like this and his answers to them are hilarious. Actually the dude Franky is working under in Wano is a result of a random answer Oda once gave because of a manga continuity issue.

If you were part of the fandom at this point then you probably remember all the theories made on the plot of Wano based on this unconfirmed speculation. And then afterwords how people kept on getting upset when their theories didn't come true. But so far we are only at three acts, most likely going to end with four total, with the last being a quick resolution to the rest of the arc.

2022-03-29 00:10:03 +0000 UTCAlso just so you guys know when the octopus goes "yoooooo" with the drum thats a reference to Japanese Kabuki plays. The entire Wano arc is styled after Japanese Kabuki plays. Since those plays are usually made up of 5 acts the Wano arc is split into 5 Acts too. The octopus chanting with the drum in the beginning is how Kabuki plays open up in Act 1 as an introduction. You are correct that the anime is still in Wano even now. The anime & manga have only made it as far as Act 3 out of 5

At a stage when you expect questions to be answered, instead we end up with even more questions. If you disregard the flashbacks, the new info and theories from this arc is crazy.
