I've got no clue why they are doing this. S1 was amazing. It turned a meh book series into something special. But so far, S2 is just... What? I don't understand it. Even if from now on, every single episode is amazing, I'll still be upset about what was cut. I'll never forget reading in the books where the 3 idiots know about the Tortoise, run off to PROVE they are better than Naofumi, and just end up getting "killed" off screen

For starters, there was like, an entire novel between the ending of S1 and the start of S2 that they completely skipped, which included Rishia resetting her level to lvl1 to start from the ground up getting the stat boosts from Naofumi's shield, Eclair's epic introduction, the old lady trying to teach all four heroes and everyone in their parties how to "manipulate their ki" which included an entire fieldtrip/training arc in the mountains, AND, not to even begin mentioning the week or so they spent RESEARCHING the Spirit Tortoise in the castle archives BEFORE running off to fight it. Also, the other three heroes ran off and left the country more-or-less without permission to go fight the Tortoise on their own without any backup from any of the nations, which extremely irritated the Queen and Naofumi.

2022-04-15 05:41:11 +0000 UTCshe was fine in this episode. my main problem was that they wasted the very first episode by focusing on her and her complaining. like work us into it at least. first thing after years and the characters we know and love get put on the back burner to some new annoying one.

2022-04-14 21:08:15 +0000 UTCHere's my take, i think they are adapting it this way to accomplish 2 things: 1.- Adjust to the changes they made to season 1 finale, similar to what happened with Slime. 2.- They remove certain content that just makes the other 3 heroes look even worse than they already do. I think that last point is the main focus of this changes, do we really need more instances of the 3 heroes being slackers/useless/annoying af? most people already hate them, no need to make that even worse, i'd prefer it if they make Naofumi look good by what he does, what he stands for instead of just because the other 3 heroes are so much worse.

Which sucks because I genuinely think that the show is better than the books in every single way. To have 2 problems in the first two episodes of season 2... Man...

In the books she meets all four heroes at once, and she challenges the Sword Hero to a duel and absolutely humiliated him. Then she went off and decided to stay around Naofumi. That was an awesome introduction to her, and I'm sad we didn't get that
