In the narrated section where they talk about her being an assassin it mentions she was trained from a young age. So aside from killing she never really experienced life after a certain age.

This happens because I frequently have to ask myself if something existed during that time period, and if I can't find the answer, I just shrug it off and think, "Well, this is a fictional country..." " lol
