Lots of misinterpretations of stuff honestly. Shutenmaru hurting Jack had people foaming though it clearly was designed to show Shuten in a good light not Jack in a bad one. But people twist things like that to fit there biases.

I give Jack some benefit of the doubt because i reiterate. The best time to get Doffy back was before he got to prison and was more fortified. He abandoned his post after days campaigning and getting no answers and killing folks. (White beard is white beard…I don’t have a response to that because yes…but he didn’t come back alive. So yes he’s white beard but the evidence shows that wasn’t enough anymore). I just think there is a lot of grey and nuance

Jack abandoned his post and his mission given by his captain, when he had the upper hand no less, to go try something that was doomed to fail. Because of his actions the Straw Hats were able to easily save Zou and ruin all of the hard work he did and all crew who died.

It’s really not much worst than White Beard attacking Marine ford. Yet he had a whole army. But as a result…so did the Marines. White beard was essentially lured out and it worked.
