There's literally kids these days who won't touch it with a 10 foot pole because it's "old", but anyone who's been around long enough knows it's one of the true GOATs, and is considered mandatory watching for a man of culture

This show's way more of a personality and 'read the room' type story. I wouldn't recommend thinking too hard on stuff. You'll get more of an understanding reading things from a character's 'personal mentality' perspective rather than 'bigger picture science' type stuff.

2022-04-27 05:36:11 +0000 UTCIf ya'll know JP culture a bit more, it'd be easier to clear up confusion, such as Director's uncertainty if it's Sci-Fi or just Dramatic Directing in certain cuts/scenes. At this point ya'll probably already know, but the show is straight science fiction, but knowing this cultural detail would've helped ease confusion and help ya'll connect dots faster The scene Director was interpreting, with Mai trying to order some food/donut whatever, as the Cashier just ignoring her 'cuz she's a has-been is almost more science fiction than what's actually happening. Essentially, JP customer service ain't like the Popeye's down the street, they'll do damn near everything to display as much hospitality as possible, even if the customer is 'has-been' or straight up rude. They're known, especially to themselves, for maintaining their composure and being accommodating. At this point, ya'll already ahead so this detail doesn't matter, but it's good to understand this idea as a fact, and more importantly as a Trope. That JP customer service is straight immaculate and professional at all times. Because there's still a ton of Anime out there ya'll yet to see that plays on this Trope, essentially expecting the viewer, an average Japanese citizen, to understand and recognize it. And ya'll ain't that, Japanese, so this comment is moreso just to let ya'll know info you couldn't possibly be expected to know already lmao it'll help for future shows n stuff

This and Nagatoro are like 2 completly different genres. Bunny Girl is Drama-Sci-Fi with a romance sub plot. Its like Monogotari or Haruhi. EDIT: More supernatural than sci-fi

2022-04-26 23:24:26 +0000 UTCSo all I really have to say is when they were introducing themselves at the beginning the reason she just repeated her name is because she was so famous everyone would know how her name is based on that, while a normal person would still have to explain how their name is from more random well known things like Sakuta does Oh and since it was tripping you guys up a bit. When Sakuta mentions adolescence syndrome Mai calls it an “urban legend” so it’s something people in the setting might hear about here and there vaguely or see online, but nobody would really believe it
