So the fact that Komi said the letter H from his first name shows that they are close. In their culture, when you use someone's first name, it shows that you are close to that person. And as for the shogi game, to my knowledge there is a female and a male division. But women do not compete with men. There are many female shogi players, but they are not considered professionals. 2022-06-07 17:56:20 +0000 UTCThat was a great and wholesome episode. I know the minute the girl starting talking about schedules and planning that Lee would like her character. The yoyo girl is cool too. One thing that doesn't get said enough imo is the cinematography or the way they adapt this show is amazing. Like for example, when Komi woke up or when she told her backstory before the trip. The way they started and ended with Komi closing her eyes>Flashbacks>Opens her eyes> back to reality, is just amazing. How they inserted the pictures from her phone as the ending song plays is another one. Anyways great reaction and discussion. This show is underrated imo

2022-06-07 00:27:53 +0000 UTCThat I understand. Naruto makes sense. His Uzamaki clan was wiped out for being OP. He’s supposed to have his daddy’s name but that would put a target on his back. Uzamaki is a placeholder name. It should be whatever Minatos last name is. But we call Sasuke Sasuke not Uchiha. So that’s also because there is multiple important characters with the same family name. So that franchise does things differently.

The order used in Japan (and many other Asian countries) is always Last Name, First Name But the better way to think about it is Family Name, Given Name Or if you're using Naruto for context Clan Name, Given Name "Uchiha Sasuke" is Of the great Uchiha Clan, Sasuke. You always start with a family name basis to maintain a respectable sense of distance. For example, like if referring to a John Smith in a business setting: More Formal - Mr. Smith - Smith - Mr. John - John Less Formal BTW, Naruto is just weird in some regards, because for the most part everyone calls him Naruto and nobody uses his last name, and on the flip side, Kakashi's first name is "Hatake", but I don't think anyone ever goes first name on him, literally everyone always just calls him Kakashi, even people who are close enough to him that you think they'd use his first name.
