i need to clarify myself, i never wanted to either challenge or change your view on the show, or that because you liked the other 3 shows you should like this one. i know overlord, redo and shield do give you a reason to continue watching but what i don't like is that you thought of dropping the show or might drop it just because she is mean, i wouldn't be here if you simply didn't like the character or you couldn't see a story you would like. also you don't need to justify your likes/dislikes/opinions its just for me it feels off and it is simply a ME problem

I’m being told based on previous anime I SHOULD like this. This is not likes and feelings work. I don’t even a rational reason to like or not like a show. Some shows hit differently than others. For a multitude of nuance. I might like a show more than usual cuz i liked Directornastys energy, that could make or break my experience watching a show. The shows listed here have much worst elements than Ms Nagatoro BUT also had elements in the show that captured my interest enough to want to see more. I’ll repeat the quote. The other shows had enough moments of interest to capture my interest. Based on episode 1. It appears this girl is mean, and will continue being mean, and this boy will have to learn to adjust to it or find out he likes being bullied by cute girls or something. It’s odd to read my likes or dislikes challenged this way.

If, somehow, you don't see any value by the end of episode 5, then might be the chance to drop it. Think back to how Lord Damien felt about Anya when he was bossing her around!

I have no desire to see Naoto berated, I am not a sadist or a masochist, and I enjoyed this show and its surprising wholesomeness. Please remember that these are young people figuring out how to interact with the opposite sex, and they are bound to make mistakes. They are not fully grown adults with years of experience in understanding others. Trying looking at what's underneath the surface to see what is REALLY going on. I am very much looking forward to season 2.

I’m not in that camp but I can understand why people flock to that premise and the character dynamic behind it. I hate how the story lacks depth/world building and I’d loathe a season 2. But for what it is, I think it’s okay. Short, wholesome, with a dash of character development. Plus the art style is nice.

What made Re:Animated's reaction to the series so great was the fact that Terrance wanted to throw hands with her literally every scene. I still rewatch their videos on it for the unfiltered rage and out of pocket commentary.

Nagatoro is, in my opinion, a great deal of fun, and I'm all for it, PROVIDED we're hopping on Summertime Render in quick succession lol

And the moments when she really shows it make a major impact, or at least they did for me. But if you're not enjoying the anime that's ok it's not for everyone. Like for me I watched Rent a Girlfriend, I forced myself to finish it, and didn't enjoy it at all. It was just to cringy and pissed me off. But people really like it and that's fine everyone has different likes and dislikes.

IMHO Nagatoro is like Sour Patch Kids or Warheads: starts off like "Just what did I get myself into here!?" but before you know it it turns sweet and wholesome. Still it is kinda rough getting there, so if you feel like you need to shuffle around the recording/uploading to make it more comfortable or even reduce the frequency to give yourself time to adjust then we'll understand. Personally I think that it's worth it, so I hope that you can hang in there.

Oh well, about Nagatoro if you don't feel it don't force it, I never watched this show further than my obligatory 3 episodes which I give to any new show as that is what I count as minimum to give the anime time to tell it's premise.
