The movie could have used another 40 minutes or so to really flesh out everything that needed to be fleshed out. There were a few cut scenes that really influenced how you saw the characters, and the ending scenes themselves were also a lot more clear-cut in the novels. I still think it was a good movie once you wrap your head around everything that happened, though. Quite a bit rushed though.

The whole reason sakuta went to mai's highschool was because he wanted to meet high school shoko. Now we are to believe that he just felt like going there because he dreamed of a girl. i dont buy it. so in reality, mai dies. His scientist friend dies. His fake girlfriend/coworker probably dies. possibly his sister remains a shut in or just dies. Sakuta wouldnt become an oucast since he never got the scar, but he would be in another highschool. This is the problem with time travel. Incidently, how did this cure her heart disease?

This show goes through self mental pain(Everybody),society norms (Mai), potentially relationships and peers (Koga), Friendships (Futaba), Family (Kaede), and finally worried on the future (Shoko).

(Re skipped) random girl..and slaying more goblins. I dunno. I won’t speak ill of it but they didn’t leave the pure satisfaction this Bunny Senpai did. At least the MHA, DBZ or Naruto ones , had action. So thats all there was to it lmao. DBZ AND NARUTO i loved. So i was also cool with the movies for that alone. I also dont talk bad about shows. I do speak REALLY REALLY well on shows i like. It’s an important thing to note.

When you've had time to mature further in your anime watching, check out the Monogatari series starting with Bakemonogatari to see the S Rank god of this sci-fi/romance/INTROSPECTIVE/your life is IMPROVED after watching the show genre.

2022-06-17 11:49:45 +0000 UTCI'm glad that you were able to bring back the Steins;Gate comparisons, because what they did in this movie is very much akin to the Reading;Steiner and the worldline theory of time travel, so again, having seen it FIRST put you guys into a well prepared place to understand what's going on here. Whenever you guys are ready for more, plz go back and hit up the sequel Steins;Gate Zero, you're missing out on the full depths of Okabe's wild ride.

This movie literally adapted the novel that came after the one that ended in episode 13, so it's supposed to be truly integrated into the story; it's canon. It sounds like you're more used to common films like the Dragon Ball Z movies or the My Hero Acadamia movies, because movies for long running Shonen Anime that get produced to tell a (new) self-contained story (usually not canon) and make some extra money as a popcorn flick. They have a totally different objective. Sometimes they aren't even written by the original authors, and that can make a huge difference in the storytelling quality. For example, the Danmachi Arrow of the Orion movie is explicitly not canon, but since the author wrote it, it does expand the lore in certain ways and feels very well in line with the level of quality as the main show.

Monogatari has a lot of complex symbolism and dialogue that needs like multiple time to read before geting it lol. Like I watched the anime first then read the novel and im just now catching a lot of the symbolism.

The only things are that it is very long and abstract with it's storytelling at times. Bunny Senpai is GOATed but Monogatari beats out for me.

Think like three volumes are out tho in Japan after the one that concluded this part but I doubt it's enough for another season so we prob might not even get more ig depending on how long the series goes on. But yea I'd be fine with this ending the animated series if that's how it turns out
