It just feels weird to watch anime in English. After 20 years of watching subs at this point I can understand probably 80-90% of the show without subs. Even subs don't translate well sometimes. It's also a good excercise if you want to learn japanese to compare what you understood from their conversation and subs to see if you are correct or how the subbers translate stuff. From time to time I try out english dubs and dubs in my native language but It still really feels kinda cringy to me. I don't even last an episode before leaving. On the other hand, I cannot watch or play non-japanese games in japanese dub. I tried playing assasin's creed and far cry in japanese it feels weird. I also tried watching Avatar in japanese dub but english works better for that.
