I didn't rock with hughie in season 2 but in this type of situation I understand where he is coming from and the shows definitely puts it out there. Especially with the upcoming episode where it parallels with frenchie and komeko (dont know how to spell her name)

This episode was great. Only other thought: Maeve was their source for temp-v. Seems like they'll run out soon.

I can understand somone like Huey but I just don’t talk much about their perspective. I just don’t buy into it from his perspective Emotionally. I'm pretty sure without your two cents they already could understand that. Imagine the position he has had to be in multiple times in a row where starlight either can't protect herself or starlight always has to protect him. As a male the role we play is important in the fact that we always try to protect the female partner in our life. It isn't about gender power bullshit or anything like that. It is hughie being in the position of powerlessness and not being able to do anything for starlight when she needs it because starlight has powers. On top of that starlight isn't all that capable even with her powers so against most supes she isn't good enough to compete. So hughie is in the position to where starlight and all the other supes are in a completely different league but at the same time starlight isn't as capable as a lot of the other supes so she has trouble protecting herself. He is also in the position of having to be protected by starlight multiple times and not having any sway in the situations he is put in.

Script writing and understanding story telling is a field of study not everyone will like or understand what makes that specific thing good. IE there are people who work for nasa or really good scientists, or even really good writers for books who have terrible taste in movies and shows (Subjectively speaking for the public but objectively speaking in regard to film literature). Tldr you're not dumb for not being a film snob.
