2022-07-24 06:42:25 +0000 UTCBasically Kanjuro is emotionless (well there's some emotion left, mostly rage, but that's rly not that much), but he's such a Method Actor that during his role, the emotions he displays tailored for the Role might as well be real to our eyes, even thought it's just an act, albeit the perfect emotional one at that, but the emotions stop once the Act ends, and the role is no longer being played

Japanese doesn't rly have gendered 3rd person pronouns so the English has to use he/she even tho Japanese doesn't. The only thing Japanese has is technically genered 1st person pronouns, but they are more flexible than in English, because females, mostly tomboys (albeit "quirky" personality type females tend to also use "boku" as well, or "Oira" which is a gender neutral pronoun, for ambiguous gender type characters), can use them as well, and effeminate males can also use "feminine" 1st person pronouns as well, because of how the pronouns are more cultural based rather than hard physique based (males & females speak different forms of Japanese after all, because females are taught by older females how to speak, and ditto for males, hence tomboys would use Boku, since they'd mostly be friends w/ boys from early adolescence, so "Boku" would be the only pronoun they'd hear during the period when kids integrate language at max speedrun efficiency, after which language retainment becomes notably harder once the starter programs shut down after the format period)

If Oden had been a woman Yamato would still call herself she. So I still see her as female. Of course it doesn't matter in the end since she is amazing either way. It's crazy that Oda introduced 2 characters (Oden and Yamato) that became instant fan faves in this arc.

And Ace's mom's name is Portgas D Rouge. Big Mom is a mom too lol, probably the most prominent mom in the whole series who isn't dead in current timeline.
