I don't care what everyone says about: "Oh, the anime makes her look horrible! She's not actually that bad!" SORRY BUT NO, the anime doesn't make her look bad ENOUGH. I'm only giving you this example because S1 covers like, I think 6 or 7 light novels of content, so you're way past it already and it's definitely not getting shown in the anime: In the VERY first light novel of the series, Myne literally takes another girl (a girl who lived in the capital no less, meaning she's either a high-end commoner or she's nobility) who had joined Spear-guy's party, and she SELLS HER into SLAVERY as a SEX WORKER. Myne forcibly makes that poor girl a SEX SLAVE!!! And the worst part is that Spear-guy HEARS HER BEING R*PED, but doesn't believe it could be that same girl because "She's way too high-end to be in this bad part of town," and he convinces himself that all of the high-pitched, blood-curdling screams and the sobbing and the begging of "Stop! Please, stop! Someone please help me!" at the top of her lungs is an ACT. He thinks it's an ACT being put on by a WILLING (paid) PARTICIPANT, he COMPLIMENTS her "dedication" (in his head), and he WALKS AWAY... And Myne only sold that girl into slavery because that girl actually wanted to be useful, that girl wanted to fight like a true party member, that girl wasn't joining the party to be part of Spear-guy's little harem like the rest of them. That poor girl gets sold as a human sex slave and violated beyond belief for literally no valid reason (and I'm pretty sure she was a virgin, too, to top it off, so just imagine how much pain she must've been in having grown men force themselves on her without any regard for the fact that she's more than just a 'thing'). Myne is the ABSOLUTE WORST. The anime does not do her justice; she is FAR too nicely portrayed in the anime. It honestly makes my blood boil just knowing how nice the anime makes her look. I'm seriously praying that S2 colors her character more accurately.
