I read about people UPSET that i had nothing to say about Ace and White Beard on ep 483. and they equated it to me being dumb lol...Fam i was CRYING lol...for the first time...i was sad lol..hilarious...folks complain i talk to much....then i got silent...and they say Lee had nothing to say about Ace....

Plus Garp wouldn't want the son of Roger and Dragon to be near the Navy until they become old enough to become soldiers or their lives would be in danger. We saw nobody but the Admirals knew Luffy was the son of Dragon. And when he gave Luffy a bit of freedom, he was influenced to become a pirate. And we saw how people give kids up to the government for money. The Bandits was the best he can do.

Like you guys havent seen the best part of the flashback, its so important to build up what drives two of the characters shown in this flashback (I won't say which ones).This flashback foreshadows a lot and introduces you to one of the most important characters in the story.

2021-05-25 14:19:14 +0000 UTCfirst time around i felt the same. i didn't think it was bad or anything, but i wanted to get on with it and finally get the crew back together and what not. The flashback picks up quite a bit towards the end, but i understand how you feel. After such a long time it is almost exhausting to have another arc before the crew can come together again.

2021-05-25 09:34:42 +0000 UTCI didn't remember these episodes or this part of the arc, but I think that the hat we've seen Ace wearing from when Luffy reunited with him in Alabasta to the moment of his capture looks an awful lot like the one we seen this old guy wearing here. Of course the one the old captain has looks a lot older, with the brim not as firm and the colors altered by an accumulation of dust and dirt (and the glasses being more in line with Doflamingo's than Ace's) but the overall design reminds me of Ace's and makes me think that is what Ace would have looked like had he been allowed to grow to old age.

We are just finding out how sabo and ace had influence on luffy growing up as he never talks about it. When the backstory ends, just think through some of the conversations luffy had with people and u will realise how these two shaped him
