also many Samurai before the Edo period were Ninja who would go and assassinate people for their Lords. Samurai is not a sword user, it's a title equivalent to a knight-servant in Europe. The whole "honor of the Samurai" was something the Edo period warriors made up to try and white-wash the very brutal history of the samurai

Oda level is difficult to get, tho, I blame that on practice, time, the fact that he is interested in this world and the fact that he can live off that, but I'll get there:p
