Its a little off topic but Beowulf says a similar thing. They point out his host the king Hrothgar's new bride, a "peacebride". She was married to him to end tribal warfare, but Beowulf said that was foolish. They might know peace now, but some warrior will there in Hrothgar's hall, see his father's shield hanging on the wall as a trophy and the war will start all over again with accusations of "You killed my father," and rebuttals of "and you killed my brother". Peace is not so easily made as war, and for some men there is no forgiving whats done in the madness of war.
