Japanese VAs even have fans to themselves regardless of their performing characters. I just have not seen the same for any non-Japanese VAs and I do not see how they can justify themselves taking original voice away other than “preaching” the content overseas. But preference is preference, and reading sub can be distracting. So it’s mmmm

I prefer this over dub because most of the time I just feel I'm missing out on content for mistranslations or even not being able to have the correct emotional expressions in voice actors. So I would 110% chose sub over dub.

2021-08-20 07:28:38 +0000 UTCI always listen in Sub then the dub, but depends on the voices for the mains protagonist, like in Highschool DxD, the dub is amazing, but for slime i can't stand the dub for the our slime lord. And the lines might change bc of translation, which works for some but not all, Overlord and DxD are the two i prefer the dub probably a couple of other just can't think of them rn (dialogue of DxD blows it's sub out of the water, it's one where if you had to react to one anime again but in dub, it's DxD without a second thought)

I haven’t even said anything towards the actual sub vs dub debate, I simply pointed out the entire discourse originates from a portion of sub fans always feeling the need to go out of their way and stick their nose up about dubs. You are far more likely to see “ewww dub 🤢” under a dub video/tweet than the reverse on a sub video/tweet. I didn’t realize this was a controversial take lol

Might be weird to switch. I don't hate on people who like one or the other. I like the dub for this one. either is fine.

I'm like 90% sub/10% dub, really depends on the show

2021-08-20 03:23:17 +0000 UTCI would say that is due to starting off in sub on YouTube where your patreon come from. if you plan on scaling your following base I would use YouTube since your followers on there would convert to patreon. The only way to truly test it out though is to chose and anime in dub and watch the results to see how well it does. as others mention shouen tend to have better dubs. the most successful reactors watch anime in both sub and dub.

As far as supporters goes you will always lose supporters no matter how you watch it because people have preferences but from a business stand point more people watch anime in dub then they do in sub including non anime fans who are casual watchers. Just look at other big YouTube reactors and you will see that there subscribers are some of the highest despite watching in dub. just a though to keep in mind. either way I'm fine.

I think the dub and sub are both decent when it comes to black clover. the reason I think someone would suggest dub is if your missing important moments in sub due to reading the subs. which to be honest anyone who watches sub can admit to since you cant watch the entire screen and read at the same time. I definitely prefer you all to watch over reading a show since if you wanted to read you could just read the manga. but its up to all. either way knowing you all i believe you will do what you want regardless of what this poll results are. I enjoy your reactions and love black clover so either or is fine.
