The witch doctor wanted revenge for one of the poor souls driven to death or killed by Rembrandt can't remember which but the guy was in love with her. That said it doesn't justify what the witch doctor did the daughters at the very least are innocent they weren't even born when it all happened.

I would just be aware of it for understanding if anything. Plus comments that aren’t concise or directly aimed at the content we covered get luz in the sea lol. I noticed you had a direct question. I think I know what LN detail you are talking about and I can confirm that it was supposed to be explained in that moment where Tomoe was watching Rembrandt so I doubt they are gonna explain it later. Especially since they are already moving on with the next part of the story in the next episode. (If im talking about the wrong detail feel free to correct me)

Once its pretty much confirmed that the anime adaptation wont cover it anyway and of course its not spoilers for the future arcs.
