It is a great series if you watch a good classic shonen jump type of series and I like it BUT a big problem is that in all honesty black clover doesn't like killing off even the semi important characters. It can show basically non existent background characters that have no meaning get killed off but anyone with a slight importance of any kind of attachment is a no killing off zone. The author will almost always give the sidestep of deaths where characters can get hurt or tension can build super high or characters have the impression of death. I won't say any more because anything else technically spoils but all I am saying is the biggest problem in my opinion is the lack of actual stakes of death. Also the anime had the problem of Asta being super annoying for a while and people dropping the series due to that so they call it bad. Like I also said black clover for quite a lot of the series sticks to basic shonen plot. It is a cool story. Sort of like a harry potter fighting anime. Still it doesn't technically do much of anything new in terms of what has already been done in past shonen series besides in a whole new kind of environment etc..... I can name off a few more but it would take time and me thinking some more on how to explain all of it but it is understandable why people would think black clover is trash. Black clover sadly does poorly in comparison to a lot of other shonen jump manga. It has a decent amount of stable sells but it is nothing when you compare it to big dogs that have been around in the past year or so, for instance. MHA gets hundreds of thousands of numbers all the time with it being the one that steadily never stops steadily growing in numbers ever since it came out. Like if you put MHA on a line graph it literally goes like (/) while black clover more likely goes like (-) if you understand what I mean by that. MHA steadily rising higher and higher while black clover probably stays right around the same level for quite a long time now. Some fans are somewhat worried that black clover will get axed before it finishes. Shonen jump has become a little weirdly insane where they just axe off series unless they are doing well. So with black clover not steadily going up like MHA or blowing up some huge numbers like mediocre slayer or JJK people probably sometimes think its bad just based on gossip. It really comes down to whether Japan likes the series or not. Japan has a super weird and more than likely biased kind of taste for shonen manga. They will go insane for a mediocre series like garbage slayer but not care about some other good manga that are in the magazine. I mean MHA is by far the biggest shonen series in America. In the US Its the biggest current selling series from Japan period. I think it was around 20 million dollars earlier this year from the US alone (For the manga volumes themselves not everything else it has grossed). If Japan didn't have a decently large fan base for MHA, which so far has produced 30 something million dollars or more (Again the money produced only from the manga itself), a lot of people honestly think MHA would get axed even with all of the support from America. So all in all people can think a series is bad simply based on how well it is received and the popularity it earns. I don't even know if you all will read this but I hope you do even though it is long. If you didn't already know specifically the talk about all of the sells and how shonen jump goes about doing things is a good thing to know about as anime watchers and as fans in general.

2021-12-07 03:53:57 +0000 UTCYeah, this is the point in the show, and pretty much from here on out, that Noelle shows out and displays that she could be the MC of her own shonen series. I love how Black Clover gives her so much growth, development, and spotlight, especially from this point onward. Her story arc of discovering her own worth, realizing that she has a found family in the Black Bulls, and coming to her own understanding that her being royalty is far more about responsibility than privilege are all fantastic. She's one of my absolute favorite female characters in shonen.

2021-09-16 23:14:39 +0000 UTCThere are spots where the animation is wonky as heck. Especially episode 62-64 those 3 episodes have the worst in the whole anime in my opinion. Then episode 150-170 are freaking 🔥🔥🔥🔥 i really do hope yall stick thru the whole anime to the end

Plus the art and animation after ep 80+ becomes 10x better cause that's when Black Clover popularity skyrocketed and Pierrot finally gave the Black Clover animators more staff and time. The first 50 episodes of Black Clover only had one and a half month of production. That's awful, but the BC animators love the Black Clover story that much they worked overtime without pay to make the animation look as good as possible, because BC was set up to fail and look alot worse.

That's why Black Clover is my favorite anime next to One Piece. Black Clover has the best story/plot by far of all new gen anime. Even tho the animation is off sometimes.
