I am tired right now so maybe I am getting confused with you two but Ravel being a "free piece" is her moms way of saying since Issei wants to lead his own family and become an elite devil she is a candidate of a free piece that would be available to join him. AKA they want her to be with Issei the red dragon emperor and be one of his girls. Ravel already basically "fell" for Issei when he stood up against everyone and her own brother and beat him against the odds in season 1 when her brother tried to take Rias as his wife. She was used to getting treated a certain way but Issei didn't do that. The typical rich elite girl that always gets what she wants and is treated like royalty but ends up meeting a boy who doesn't treat her at all like that and it basically turns her on and makes her fall in love with that boy who doesn't act like everyone else. Overall Ravel is just another girl for the competition of getting with Issei. It is a harem so all of them end up with him but it is about the "competing" where the more girls means the less time you can get with Issei. Its a complicated mess honestly. Also it is the usual thing where the parents probably want a powerful red dragon emperor to have offspring with their daughter so they can have even more powerful grandchildren. Etc....

2021-12-18 04:21:03 +0000 UTCSo I did a little research and apparently the author of DxD stated that if it weren't for Covid causing delay we would have had season 5 by now. So it is predicted that season 5 of highschool dxd will be coming out soon. That could change but multiple articles have recently come out in the past month or so stating that it should be coming soon and the author made it aware that covid was a big issue as to why season 5 hasn't happened yet. I have no idea whether the studio will be the same as season 4 or if it is changed again but some of the viewership of DxD got cut down just a little bit because of the change but even so it still has a good following. Just thought I would put this out here since I did a little research up on this stuff.

2021-12-18 03:42:32 +0000 UTCFrom what I understand, when Ravel's mother said that Ravel is currently a "Free piece", that is, she is currently free to be taken on your team without exchanging for another person. If Issei decides to form his own team, Ravel is free of contract to join Issei's team without any complications. If Ravel was on someone's team, she couldn't join Issei's team unless he traded in another evil piece for her.
