I was sure Stregobor would accuse her of something, Stregobor is obviously an idiot, but he did have some arguments, Yennefer used the magic of fire which was taboo for wizards, she was captured by Nilfgaard, she behaved badly in past and it was clear she was hiding something. I think the best solution for Yennefer would have been to confess that she had lost her magical powers, she could say, "I used the magic of fire, a forbidden thing, taboo, and as a price I lost my magical powers." I think that's how she could have persuaded the council. I love Yennefer so I'm extremely curious what she's going to do now.

In s1 it was very much about not being able to escape your destiny, and nlw we start to see people fighting to make their own decisions. Ciris growth is amazing from being a sheltered princess that knew nothing about what went on outside the castle to this badass that wnats to stand up for herself and fight. My heart breaks for Yennefer, she truly believes that she is nothing without her magic, but she is so much more. We can only hope she will learn that herself

Yes Ciri's parents ended up married thanks to the law of surprise, but the relationship can end up being more, father-son, father-daughter, mother-son, mother daughter, brother-brother, brother sister, sister-sister, etc. depending on the individuals, ages, and personalities involved. Someone seems to focus only on the concept of husband-wife since that's the only example they gave in the show. Just in case you guys didn't realize there are other options ;)
