You guys were great, don't get me wrong, and your reactions were much like I expected. However, when you first uploaded it I started to watch it only to stop it shortly into the first episode and didn't get back to it until just now due to what I knew was going to happen when Luffy reached those coaches. You in fact had uploaded the next OP video before I was able to bring myself to return. You guys were both right, by the way. Sanji was trying to protect both old man Zeff as well as his friends in the Straw Hats. He was in a trap that he couldn't escape, but he didn't want to drag Luffy and the others down with him. He also knew that Luffy wouldn't back down if he warned him, not after what Luffy went through in Marineford to try and save Ace. Therefore his only option was to channel Usopp and Robin from Water 7 and convince Luffy that he was cutting ties with him, Didn't work, of course. After training for 2 years to develop his haki Luffy wasn't going to be fooled by such a lame performance. That's probably what made watching and re-watching this moment so hard for me: Sanji was trying so hard to convince Luffy to go and save himself and Luffy wasn't buying any of it. Well, we're through it now, and I'll be looking forward to your next videos as it's gonna heat up!

But we will react to openings at once when we catch up. Not gonna lie. I have OCD habits. So it’s like… either we watch them or not. I used to really really like the openings. Fandom was literally upset. More upset than black clover and other fandoms don’t even say anything. So anyways once I stopped that was it. Took the fun out for me personally. (“We pay for your blind reactions. Do as we say. Don’t watch them”. ). That one hurt. And here we are lol. Less hype Lee. goes right into the episode.

No one can yell at you for that as any potentially spoiled moments would have already been seen in the anime proper, and this series has some real bangers for their openings.

Its just so damn powerful like you said Lee. Also the song that plays at the end is the first ending song of One Piece. The nostalgia and pain hits all at the same time

If you want them too watch it so bad then why not start by asking them nicely to watch it after episode 828 where it's not considered a spoiler anymore as all spoiler opening characters have already been introduced. It's 20 episodes away, but still. Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure that's the right episode if you don't mind the crazy fights that animators like putting in randomly

2022-01-11 05:10:04 +0000 UTCA lot of people skip over Nami's "Goodbye" as just that - a goodbye. さようなら (sayounara) - is one of the worst things to tell someone in Japan (except for foreigners saying it. Well, because they're foreigners and they don't know as much). You're not only being rude, but in this occasion Nami was so pissed that she basically cut her ties off with Sanji. That's why they always say (matane) or (ja-na) which are variations of "see you later/next time"

2022-01-11 04:00:17 +0000 UTCI can't even count how many episodes One Piece touched me, moved me, made me emotional, made me cried but this episode 808, broke me, the most. I still cried every time I watched this episode. Both Sanji and Luffy were in difficult situation, no one was at fault, every one suffered in that episodes and you don't ever want them be. Sanji desperately wanted to protect Zeff, he thought he owned him for life, he loved him because no one but Zeff gave him a sense of family belonging that he craved for his whole childhood (though he had another new family in strawhat). He just could not put Zeff in risk even a bit, even it meant sacrificing his dream, his happiness. And ironically it was not the first time he did his sacrifice, he refused to leave Baratie to pursue his own dream. He left just because both Zeff and Luffy endeavored pushing him to realize and action. It was built in his character, from day one. Luffy had strong faith over his believing, his nakama. He would not flinch a bit if it was about his nakama, about his believing. When all of these factors crash, this outcome was unavoidable but tragedy. I blamed no one, no one was at fault but I suffered with them, emotionally. This episode broke me every time and it is the saddest one by far.

Luffy and Usopp's moment was also emotional, but the fight with Sanji and Luffy, as he just takes Sanji's blows is never going to be bearable.
