And Domas answered it himself as, I would do anything because they have responsibilities that I couldn't comprehend. Words are a bit different in the anime but it means same thing. That was powerful foreshadowing for what was going to happen this episode.

A possible connection where they explain in the beginning of the episode that the 1st place king in the rankings gets to choose one item from the divine treasure vault. Every king that gets the chance to choose from that vault always goes for one specific treasure and its apparently a treasure from God that always makes the king possessing it go missing or lose their minds. Now think about this and connect it to the one guy in this same episode who has a crown and matches those details. It is easy to simply look over that but it is literally in your face in the exact same episode.
