About the teacher hit. It's a korean thing, she hit him out of relief and concern for him. It's common in korean culture, parents do that when they are relieve. She was happy to see him and learn the other students were all right.

2022-01-31 11:59:14 +0000 UTCPretty sure the teacher slapping the student and saying "Seriously?!" is that classic moment when you're scared for your life, and then you see or run into someone you know, and you're so relieved and shocked, the emotions just come out (sometimes as irritation). Kinda like, "Dammit, you're alive?! I'm so happy and relieved i could hit you!" You always see it in movies or tv shows when a character does some wild shit, then they return to the group/loved one, and they get on them for being reckless, etc.

We've been friends since childhood and you tell me that. I was still helping her down on the rope, but first I would have slapped her and said, "Do you think I'd try to save you so many times if I didn't care about you?"
