The two captains were Dorry and Brogy from little Garden Arc. This is classic Oda referencing early arcs of One Piece were at the time I just though it was a side arc with very little relevance to the Alabasta arc.

I'm sure later would get a backstory were Big Mom as a baby was born very frail and her parents took her to Baldimore where a genius scientist (Vegapunk) live to get her help. I think Vegapunk unlock Linlin's lineage factor allowing her to tap into her giant heritage. I'm guessing after Vegapunk so the results considered not to do anymore experimentations in regards to giant modification. I think Judge later learn about Vegapunk's lineage factor modification and started his own human modification in-vitro to achieve better results. Judge probably was being cautious and also suppressed his kids emotions cause he was afraid to cause a repeat of a Big Mom type of experiment, having an uncontrollable child would not make a good soldier in his mind. Of course for all of this to work Vegapunk would have to be at least 80 to 90 years old currently in the story.

2022-03-13 17:33:09 +0000 UTCI believe that Lin Lin's size and power are a part of the early (and failed) experiments into making people giant that CC was referring to when he said that it was impossible. that she was the "product" of one of them. The experimental compound, which might have been developed by Vegapunk or someone like him, would have been distributed to doctors in different nations who would have been "compelled" (read: bribed, threatened or tricked) into administering it to their pregnant patients as a "nutritional supplement". They also possibly gave preference to patients who had a history of miscarriages and the like, that way if something goes wrong they could blame it on said history. Of course the desired outcome was to create a giant warrior that the WG could control easily, so when LinLin experienced her "hunger pangs" and showed that she was actually uncontrollable the WG wrote her off as yet another failure in a series of failures. Of course when something goes wrong the WG shifts into cover-up mode. This would have likely involved silencing the doctors (either through bribes, threats or vanishing them entirely) and erasing the evidence of their involvement (killing the parents, capturing or killing the children subjects, falsifying news articles, etc.) Lin LIn was probably spared this because she was spirited away in the chaos following one of her Hunger Pangs rampages. The vessel they were on looked like it might have been operated by pirates, and if so there would be no official records of where they took her to. Even if the Navy found the parents again I doubt that they would give up their daughter (which they did indeed seem to have loved) just to have their own lives spared, And so Lin LIn dropped off the WG's radar until the day Mother Caramel contacted Cipher Pol to sell Lin Lin and the other orphans as part of her final deal with them. Of course the WG would not have known at the time that Lin Lin was a product of those failed experiments that were abandoned so long ago, and by the time they put the pieces together it would have been too late as she'd grown too powerful, both with the strength they gave her and her skills with the devil fruit, for them to be able to do anything about. Accordingly, I don't think that Lin LIn is the only subject of these varied experiments that slipped through the cracks and survived to this day, I believe that Kaido might have been one too. This is supported by something that we see in Wano, which I'll refrain from elaborating on due to spoilers, and I'll hold to that belief until we're shown something that overturns it

And the navy with that power would already beaten the emperors since they are actually part of the world's balance to this day. The navy would have 3/6 of the world's power to this day. The final war would happened before even Luffy was born lol She wouldn't have turned better. She would've been USED better and that's not better. Imagine her with Lucci's mentality. Damn you don't want that!

It's nothing that has been confirmed or denied in the series yet, but I think that Big Mom was a subject of the early experiments the World Government performed to try and turn people into giants, the ones that Caesar Clown was "encouraged" to continue by Big Mom. My reasoning is as follows: Linlin is much bigger than either of her parents, and from what they were saying it doesn't seem like they had any giant relatives to leave her with, making her size even more unnatural. Even stranger than her size is her strength, capable of injuring or killing a full grown giant larger than her. Finally, doesn't her "hunger paings" remind you of the reactions of the kids going through withdrawal on Punk Hazard? Add it all together and it just reeks of World Government shenanigans. So in terms of Linlin's "bad parenting", while I don't think that it is completely unrelated I fell that it's only a very small part of what's going on there. Much like how the kids on Punk Hazard could not be controlled while they were going through the withdrawal, accordingly Linlin was practically unreachable during her hunger pangs attack as well as the polar opposite feeding frenzy, and whatever is actually causing those states in her is what is responsible for those disasters.

It is not possible for them to be the same exact being. Also it being directly stated that prometheus has big mom's soul.
