Yesterday was seemingly magical. It was the first time that I have had Reed in front of my cameras in over a year and it simply felt right. Not creating with your first and only muse for so long is a strange thing, but it is even more strange to do it once more. Reed was coming into Los Angeles for a visit and we spoke just before she came. I so happened to have yesterday off work and she so happened to have the day free. With that perfect timing, Reed came over to my studio, shot for Jeans and the rest of the time shooting was spent blasting through all sorts of analogue like we were Oprah. Multiple packs of analogue were spent and she we such a doll to save and use a pack of Impossible Project Circle Frame Edition 600 Type B&W film for our shoot. She knows this is my absolute favorite integral type so I was smitten that she brought it with her. The film was far expired, so a couple came out blank from a misfire of the shutter due to a dying battery pack as well as some dead emulsion on the integral. I will include those as well because I think they are just as beautiful as the rest, even if they are blank.
The shoot was seamless, unforgettable and familiar. We had the same flow, the same process and the same outcome. Everything turned out beautifully from the digitals to all of the analogue. I am still processing all of the thoughts I have surrounding yesterday's work with Reed, but I can tell you now that it is all positive and it was a surreal and amazing feeling to have this lady, this muse back in front of my cameras again. More of the story in vast detail coming with the release of the digital images. Enjoy!
