Love them both as characters, Daemon would be a great conquering king and Rhyanera would probably have a Kingdom form around her with her willpower and charisma if she left for her own freedom with a Dragon, but that Iron Throne is a trap neither of them can give up. Driven by Conquest or Freedom bound in the chains of duty and promised power.

No respect for the people of her realm beyond the power they offer which she sees as nothing compared to herself while complaining that’s how everyone looks at her. She insults nobles and traditions and cries that she doesn’t want the responsibility of throne while absolutely refusing that anyone else could possibly sit it. Both her and Daemon want and feel entitled to EVERYTHING but especially what they’re denied, if they have to fight for it all the better. Then when they have something it no longer interests them, she had her own choice for marriage and all the suitors could be hers so she no longer cared; she wanted the two men she knew she could have the least and Daemon when he could have her lost the drive to finish it.

Like at first I totally agreed Viserys was a weak king but the more I see I understand the balance he maintains better, he’s a really good King and the thrones a nest of snakes under him with the one he loves most (Daemon & Rhyanera) given the most leniency coming back to cut him the deepest.

I believe that Viserys overall did care for his king but his ambitions of putting his grandson on the throne was too great. He didnt want to reveal the info that he knew would cause pain to Viserys. Hes not just like Littlefinger who gave no fucks

I saw it as him just not being able to perform cause he just couldn't, not because of guilt. It wouldn't have been the first time he couldn't "perform", he couldn't keep it up with Misera (I think that's her name, the "common whore"/White Worm) in episode 1. That's where my mind went immediately, I didn't even consider guilt lolol. It totally could be guilt that had him bailing, but at this point I'm not so certain 🤣🤣🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ Other than that little bit there I COMPLETELY agree that Daemon was plotting! Once word spreads of this, I'm not so sure the Sea Snake would let his son marry a "sullied" Princess, and no one else will be stepping up to marry her either, leaving Daemon as the only option in letting Rhaenyra remain heir and not Aegon. He didnt even need to seal the deal, Daemon got what he really wanted. Though I think maybe he would've if he could lol And guilt free 🤣🤣🤣Either way I love how they're portraying his character.... is he bad, a misunderstood good guy, or just an evil prick hungry for the throne who just happens to ooze cunning charisma??lol It makes for a great story!

I think he wanted to get otto fired and use rhaenyra to get the throne. Daemon knows his brother wouldn’t tolerate his daughter being spied on so he had the info be delivered directly to otto knowing he would have to tell the king. The only thing I think that threw everything off was how guilty he felt about using rhaenyra so he bailed and got shit faced lol
