Also, a minor pet peeve of mine is when they translate English words into other English words like papa into dad it was already English it loses the effect when translated at the very least translate it to daddy so it keeps it's effect.

All the way from Roman times (Fido comes from "fidelis", which means "Faithful" in Latin, and even a few of the US prez had dogs named Fido, and a bunch of other wankers in various countries. It basically became so generic synonym w/ "dog default name", that people stopped using it entirely, even in literature featuring dogs (altho everyone knows it's a synonym w/ dog basically, because all Fidos are dogs, even if not all dogs are Fidos)

In this isekai world, the actual technique for swordfighting is worse than it is in our world, because technique doesn't matter as much when magic is involved, it doesn't matter how good your technique is if you move at mach 1 and shatter boulders with a single swing. Alexis's style is focused on good technique, and hence bland because it isn't relying on talent or magic, but just hard work, it's very similar to sword styles made in our world in that regard. Cid having mastered every martial art from our world means that he trained purely technique, and not magic in our world, which ended up making Cid and Alexis having a similar style that has good technique and doesn't rely on superhuman feats or magic. That makes it so when Alexis says she hates her style, which relies on practiced technique, she's indirectly hating on Cid's style, and Cid thinks his style is the best in this current world (EP 2 during claire fight).

I had to google this but apparently Fido is one of the most popular names for dogs over here in the U.S. Which is strange cuz i swear i never ran across a dog name Fido ever in my life LOL
