You make a lot of great observations and understand everything very well. It doesn't hurt that all characters in Stranger Things, even the "bad guys" are played so well that it's not a one dimensional type of thing, all the characters have their good and bad.

Yes some of it is the power, but she knew she needed to get them back to truly save her friends (and the town/world of course). I think it was a logical choice in the circumstances.
