A New Toy | Sigma 50mm 1.4 DG

I always love getting new equipment, especially when it comes to me virtually free! I have been sitting on my old D7100 for over a year now with only using it once in that time. Frankly, I did not even use it; Reed shot with it when she assisted me at a friend's wedding last November. I finally decided that it was time to move on and clear some room on my camera shelves. Not only did I part ways with my D7100, but I also got rid of my Nikon 50mm 1.8G. They both served me well for the years that I had them, but it was time for a serious upgrade to my 50mm lens.

With the sale of my D7100, 50mm 1.8G and a helping hand from my most recent Patreon payout, I was able to go and purchase my new Sigma 50mm 1.4DG with only a few dollars shelled out from my pocket. Yesterday Reed and I took the trip to Samy's Camera in Santa Ana, California and picked up this beast that they had on hold for me all day! We then headed to Long Beach to meet up with a couple friends for dinner and some drinks, but we pulled off the road at the shore and shot some test photos with my new lens! I will be releasing those to 'The Intimate Access' Tier a little later today!

It goes without saying it, I am so excited about this newest addition to my arsenal of gear and cannot wait to see what I can create with it. It all goes right back into photography and furthering my passions for it.
