Deep Reds With Reed

Reed and I have released quite a few sets from Yucca Valley; this is the next, but first to be shot during the trip. Check in time for our space was 2:00 P.M., but at 2:45 we still found ourselves sitting outside our space waiting for the man with an overrides pick-up truck to finish cleaning and leave.  Within a half of finally being able to enter, we had all of our belongings inside our beautiful Airbnb and had begun to settle in. With a few Snapchat photos and videos of how amazing the space was, we decided to fit in a set before the sun disappeared behind the horizons. Reed quickly but meticulously got ready and we headed into the rocky backyard of our Airbnb.

Within a two minutes walk we arrived at these massive boulders and knew that was the spot for our shoot! Reed threw on this amazing red dress and we began shooting our first ever set in Yucca Valley. Some of you may recognize this dress; it is the red version of the dress we shoot for our 'white dress project'. I would say that we definitely favor the white version of this dress for shoots, but have shot plenty in the red! I would consider it a yin and yang of the same pattern.

Reed and I shot quickly as the sun disappeared behind the mountains of Southern California. I do enjoy my sweet time shooting a set, but sometimes when it is crunch time, I work better under pressure. I felt like a monkey carrying a few thousand dollars worth of equipment in my hand climbing all over these boulders to get as many different angles as I could. Granted, all without a camera strap. I have never been a fan of the straps that come with camera bodies and it was some time before I bought my Black Rapid camera strap. Thankfully, no equipment was damaged or broken in the making of this set for you. Enjoy!
