Fire In The Sky With Meredith Devine

A couple days prior to this one, Reed told me that Meredith was going to come over for a pool day and to hang out. I of course, could not argue with that! Meredith is such a down to earth lady, being around her is great! It also helps a lot that she was going to bring her brand new Frencie pup! Something else happened a couple days prior. The Holy Fire was raging and jumped from about 5,000 acres to about 24,000 acres. Leading up to our pool day and even a few days after; there was massive plumes of smoke overtaking the skies. During the day, the sun was a forsaken orange with the ever looming feeling of destruction following the smoke. Thankfully it did not jump the highway and head our way.

With sheet of ash quickly collecting on the ground hour by hour, Reed and I grabbed a couple brooms and began to clean up before Meredith arrived, skimmed the pool and filled a couple coolers with beverages, the adult kind. She finally arrived at around 1:30P.M. we set up towels on the chairs and laid out for a couple of hours. Consuming our chilled beverages and chatting up a storm while the three dogs ran around playing with each other. Eventually, we got in the pool, swam around for a little bit then went back to laying out. Meredith then said "let's shoot?" Reed and I jumped out of our chairs, went and grabbed all the gear we could and were so ready.

Reed shot her first, then it was my turn. She put on this vintage Harley shirt, some bright pink bottoms and we headed to the shade. After shooting for little while in the shade, we moved slightly to the left and were in the direct sunlight. The sunlight that was tinted orange because of The Holy Fire. Such an interesting color tone to the images, but I love it! We then moved back into the shade, shot a few more photos and wrapped up the shoot. Soon after, we wrapped up the visit. I am so glad I finally got Meredith in front of my lens and I am beyond excited with the results. Enjoy!
