Analogue With Anna Lisa Wagner | A Collection Of FP-3000B Exposures

It is only fitting to share some of my most recent favorite images on my birthday.

The first pack of FP-3000B I had was gifted to me by my friend Andy Reaser. I had never shot it before and honestly just held onto it because I did not have a stock of it and wanted to wait for the right moment to use it. I eventually tested it out with Reed and I was up in the air about it. I shot the film through one of our Land cameras; I believe it was the Land Automatic 350. Normally I like my black and white images to be high contrast and a large amount of depth and contrast between the shadows and highlights. We shot through the pack of film and I never really picked it up again since because it was just a little too flat for my liking. However, I still have a few packs of it that I have randomly accumulated over the last year.

The other day while Anna was in town we decided to shoot and I knew I wanted to shoot this spot in soley black and white. I had just finished a pack of FP-100C that was in my 600SE and decided to try out 3000B one more time. I also loaded my Mamiya m645 and Nikon F5 with Ilford HP5 Plus. It was a black and white kind of day. We began shooting on digital and nailed down several solid poses. I picked up my 600SE and we took the gamble. I metered on my digital which was interesting in it of itself because digital cameras do not have a 3000 ISO setting, so I set it to 3200 and over exposed it by about 2 stops in order to get my desired exposure on the FP-3000B.

Shutter and aperture set, shutter release cocked, focused via the rangefinder; click.

Thirty seconds later we had our first exposure fully cooked and the moment of truth was in the peel. With each little adhesion sound from separating the negative from the print, our eyes widened. It was beautiful. It was perfect. I became ecstatic and we immediately shot more. The 600SE instantly changed my mind about 3000B. The tones, the depth everything what phenomenal. Now all I want is more FP-30000B! Enjoy!

All of these exposures were shot on Fujifilm FP-3000B B&W Professional film with a Polaroid 600SE.
