Its interesting that you mentioned the connection between whats his face, MC's student and Sophia. One has worked to fight that lower dragon and Sophia is on the level of killing greater dragons. Sophia thinks she's leagues ahead of the MC in power, yet if you remember from a few episodes ago (I think it was Luto that mentioned it) our boy is getting within range to be able to fell a god. The writing is really good when you look at it.
