何でＳなのに吊られてたかって？

“Hm? You’re asking why the old man was the one getting strung up even though he’s the S?”

なんて説明したらいいか…いわゆる爺さんはいつだってＭに対して痛みも含めて可愛がる。愛でる。

“It’s a bit hard to put into words, but… the old man always dotes on whatever M he’s got in front of him—pain and all.”

それに対して相手が涙を流して喜ぶ姿を見ると、爺さんは“愛おしい”“美しい”って、そう思う。その事実はちゃんと分かってる

“And when he sees that M crying with joy, shaking because the pain’s turned into pleasure, he really does think, ‘Beautiful. Precious.’ That much, he gets.”

でも、“なぜＭがそれを求めるのか”そこだけが分からない。

“But what he can’t wrap his head around is why the M wants that in the first place.”

身が裂けるほどに苦しいのに頬を赤らめ、耐え難い痛みに泣きながら喜ぶ。

“His body’s in agony, like it’s being torn apart—cheeks flushed, crying from pain he shouldn’t be able to stand… and he’s still happy about it.”

その感情の“根っこ”が、自分の中にはまったく無い

“That root emotion at the bottom of all that—he says he just doesn’t have it in him.”

“That’s about how he put it, anyway.”

これをしたら男は泣き叫び歓喜に震えて喜ぶ”ってのは手にと取るように分かる。“これをしたら男が狂おしいほどに自分を求め、全てを捨ててでも愛してくるほどに堕ちる”ってのも答えがすぐ分かる。

“He told me, ‘I know exactly what to do to make a man cry out, scream, and shake with joy. I know what’ll make a man fall so hard he’ll throw everything away for me and cling to me like he’s gone insane.’ Stuff like that—he always reads it in an instant.”

でも、男がそこまでの気持ちに至る理由が全くわからないんだってよ

“But the reason a man ever gets to that point—he says that’s the one thing he just can’t understand.”

「無い感覚」…それを、ずっと探してる。俺はそれを手伝ってる。せめてもの恩返しだな。で、多分あの人は、何もかも手に入れた今でも、それを見つけるまで“まだ”終われないんだよ。

“He calls it a ‘missing sensation’… something he’s been chasing his whole damn life. I’m just helping him look for it—feels like the least I owe him. And even now, when he’s already got pretty much everything a man could have, he still can’t call it quits until he finds that one thing.”

でもな……さっき、ちょっと嬉しそうな顔してたんだ

“But y’know… just now, he looked kinda pleased.”

いつもと違って、なーんか幸せそうな顔してた。言ってた“ペット”ってやつが、今まで見てきたモンとは違う何かを持ってたんだろうな

“Different from how he usually is—he actually looked kinda happy. That ‘pet’ he was talking about must’ve had something none of the others ever did.”

なんかさ、自慢の彼氏を紹介するみたいな？そんな顔してさ、

“The way he was smiling… it was like he was showing off a boyfriend he’s proud of.”

そういう顔見ると、ちょっとこっちも嬉しくなるんだよな、はは。

“Seeing him like that… somehow it makes me a bit happy too. Heh.”
