Demon of winds - Latawiec

Strong winds have always instilled fear, and the whirlwinds, which suddenly lifted dust and leaves into the air, stirred the imagination. For this reason, people began to associate them with the actions of demons, often appearing in the form of young, beautiful women or handsome men with long golden braids, but also as birds. Under the influence of Christianity, the formation of whirlwinds was believed to be the result of the actions of devils or witches (it is difficult to pinpoint the exact source of this demon's origin).

Male "Latawiec" came to the earth in the form of falling stars and seduced women, who, after engaging in such a romance, did not live long. No one could resist his beauty, and in his embrace, they fainted with pleasure. The female counterparts of this demon, just like the males, seduced their victims and took their souls.

Sometimes, "Latawiec" could be the souls of unbaptized children, who, in the form of birds, would fly to the earth, crying and begging for baptism. They had to be listened to and given a name by saying these words: "If you are a maiden, your name shall be Anna, and if you are a young man, your name shall be Wawrzyniec." Then the wind would quiet down, and the soul could peacefully leave the world.

There were also other ways to defend against these demons. One had to drink and rub oneself with an herbal infusion, as well as purify oneself with the smoke of burned pig manure. Additionally, upon seeing a falling star, one had to throw a cloth petal upwards.
To this day, belief in superstitions regarding winds remains alive among the older residents of Polish villages, and whirlwinds are associated with the devil's dance.

As some of you probably already know - Latawiec is the first demon in my calendar. I decided to pick this one because my name is Anna and that's the name you should give to a female Latawiec. I thought that was very cool and funny.

I chose the first pic for January but now I am wondering if it was the best choice (now I am leaning more towards 4th, 3rd or 2nd one) but I am really curious to hear your opinion.
