Summer for our ancestors was associated not only with the sun and long days, but also with the storm season. It was during this time that Płanetnik had the most work. These were semi-demonic beings who could control the weather by manipulating storm and hail clouds.
They were often imagined as young and strong men, who sometimes fell from the clouds and lived among rural communities. They wore linen shirts, and on their heads, they often wore hats under which they hid their constantly wet hair. Sometimes they were seen in professions such as shepherds or healers.
However, people also developed their own methods of defense against storms. When storm clouds appeared on the horizon, church bells were rung to ward them off, a candle was lit in the window of a cottage, or wreaths were burned.
I have some great news! My photography book is almost finished. It need to have a few more corrections and it will be available in my store! I am so excited and thank you for being a huge part in it's creative process. THANK YOU!
Love, Erinthul.
